About- Brimming out of the Frame

The title Brimming out of the Frame, was used for the Brimbank Community Grants application in 2013, with the idea that the Gallery would begin to generate more projects which were" out of the frame". Out of the frame, as in not framed and flat on the wall of the gallery, and also outside of the Gallery itself and in the public space of the community.

Receiving the Brimbank Community Grant enabled us to do this project, and a CASS Foundation Grant also facilitated another project 'Memories in Motion", which was out of the frame.

These projects have been important for the life of the gallery and the community in which it works.
Community Connections are made through the partnerships that evolve out of these projects. These projects have enabled five types of people in the local community to meet each other and work together,

  • Art teachers in the local schools
  • Local artists  or artists associated with Gallery Sunshine Everywhere
  • University students who are training to be teachers
  • Volunteers and artists from Gallery Sunshine Everywhere
  • Community organisations and their staff, where we installed artwork, such as libraries, local businesses and community centres.
  • the students that we work with to create the artwork
