Environmental animations at Sunshine Primary School

Students at Sunshine Primary School made environmental art, reusing parts of plants and seedpods to make patterns. Students moved their patterns to make a series of artworks that if put together they would form an animation.

Painting out of the frame with Sunshine College yr 11 art students and local artist Robert Jackson

Paintings were made by year 11 students at Sunshine College with the local artist Robert Jackson.  The paintings are part of Gallery Sunshine Everywhere's 'Brimming out of the Frame Project.'  The students explored using new painting materials with Robert, in the use of paint tinters and waterbased varnish, and also used some different bases to paint on, such as masonite and found hardwood.
There are about 11 paintings that explore the theme of place.

Paola Balla at Mother of God School

Here's a little glimpse of what Paola Balla is making with the children at Mother of God School at Ardeer.
This is Bunjil's nest, which she made with the children last Tuesday. It was brought out to be part of a smking ceremony for a mural that the children made recently to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Wurundjeri People. The children were very proud of this nest that they have made with Paola.

Sunshine Harvester School - growing beanbags

At Sunshine Harvester Primary School, we have been trying out various ways of printing onto fabric which explore ideas of growing with the artist Charlotte Clemens.
We used fabric textas to draw about growing and then we made sponge shapes of animals to print. We used leaves and stencils to make other sorts of prints.

These pieces of fabric will be made into beanbags by Charlotte and Debbie.
Then they will go on tour to the libraries and come back to Sunshine Harvester School so the grade two students who made them will be able to sit on them and enjoy their artwork.
